‘He’s back’: Trump ‘not out of woods’ but clear to leave hospital

US

Donald Trump says he is leaving hospital tonight after being treated for coronavirus.

The US president tweeted: “I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 PM.” (11.30pm UK time).

“Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

The president was admitted to the Walter Reed Medical Centre in Maryland on Friday after having a fever and receiving oxygen at the White House following his positive test the night before.

Mr Trump earlier sent a flurry of campaign tweets in capital letters, as he encouraged people to vote in next month’s election.
