J-Lo denies split from partner but pair admit they are ‘working through some things’

Entertainment

Jennifer Lopez and her fiance Alex Rodriguez have responded to reports that they have split up, calling them “inaccurate”.

Rumours swirled on US gossip sites such as Page Six, People and TMZ on Saturday, after an anonymous source told them the power couple had “hit a rough patch” and had unofficially split up.

However, in a total rebuttal, Lopez and Rodriguez said in a joint statement: “All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.”

Lopez, 51, and Rodriguez, 45, started dating in 2017, and announced their engagement in March 2019.

A source had apparently told People magazine: “She’s working in the Dominican Republic and he’s in Miami so it’s tough seeing each other, especially with quarantining and COVID.”

The mystery source added that although J-Ro (as they are often known) had hit a “rough patch” and had talked about breaking up – they never officially split, suggesting the pair may have drifted apart.

In true Hollywood fashion, a camera crew tracked down former Major League Baseball star Rodriguez on Saturday outside his Miami gym, where he simply said that he wasn’t single – much to the audible disappointment of the woman asking the questions.

More from Jennifer Lopez

Lopez, a singer, film producer and actress, is perhaps best known for songs such as “Jenny from the Block” and her appearance in the 2019 film Hustlers.

Rodriguez is a successful baseball player and retired from the sport in 2016 after a 22-year career that saw him hit 696 home runs – putting him fourth on the sport’s all-time home run list.
