Taylor Swift has become the first artist to claim all top 10 slots in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

All of the songs are from the popstar’s latest album Midnights, which was released just over a week ago on Friday 21 October.

The record was previously held by US rapper Drake, who had nine of the top 10 songs for a week in September last year.

Reacting to the news, Swift tweeted to her 91.5 million followers: “10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES.”

Her first single from the album – Anti-Hero – claimed the top spot, marking her ninth career number one.

The other songs to make the top 10 were Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow On The Beach, Midnight Rain, Bejeweled, Question…?, You’re On Your Own, Kid, Karma and Vigilante S***.

Midnights is this year’s fastest-selling album, overtaking Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, according to the Official Charts Company.

It racked up 204,000 chart sales in seven days – more than doubling Swift’s previous best of 90,300 – which she achieved with her album 1989, released in 2014.

It was the biggest first week of album sales since Adele’s album 30 was released last November, and it was also the most streamed album of the year, with 72.5 million streams over the seven days.

Swift also dominated the UK charts last week, with Midnights and Anti-Hero both landing number one spots.

It comes just days after controversy over the music video for Anti-Hero.

The original version of the song showed the pop superstar stepping onto bathroom scales before the dial spins to reveal the word “fat”.

But it was updated on YouTube and Apple Music, with the new version showing Swift receiving only a disapproving look from a doppelganger standing to one side.

The change was made after some fans and public figures criticised the original scene, suggesting it encouraged “fatphobia”.
