A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous body harm following a stabbing near the British Museum, police say.
The Metropolitan Police say a man has been taken to hospital with a “stab wound”.
Officers have described the stabbing as an “isolated incident”.
In a statement posted on social media, the force said: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH following an isolated incident at the junction of Russell Street/Museum Street at approximately 10am.
“A man was taken to hospital with a stab wound. No outstanding risk to the public.”
The junction of Great Russell Street and Museum Street is close to the entrance of the famous museum in central London.
