New photos of Prince George released to mark royal’s seventh birthday

New photographs have been released to mark Prince George’s birthday, showing the young royal with a cheeky gap-toothed smile and blond locks.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first son turns seven on Wednesday – and the future king bears a striking resemblance to his father.

The two photographs were taken by Kate earlier this month and show George smiling at the camera, dressed in a polo shirt in one and a more casual camouflage T-shirt in another.

William and Kate routinely share photographs of their children to mark their birthdays.

The Cambridges have spent lockdown at Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk, where the pictures are likely to have been taken.

The children were most recently seen in photographs released for Prince William’s birthday last month, showing them playing with their father in the garden at Anmer.

During lockdown, they were also seen with their parents for the weekly Clap for Carers thanking NHS staff, as well as helping William and Kate to deliver food to vulnerable people on the Sandringham Estate.

More from Prince George

William and Kate have both joked about home-schooling George and his brother, Prince Louis, and sister, Princess Charlotte, during the past few months.

When the duchess was asked about teaching her children in a recent interview, she mentioned the popular book Spider Sandwiches by Claire Freedman.

She said: “George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects. Spider sandwiches are far cooler than literacy work.”

Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

He made his public debut a day later on the steps of the hospital, wrapped in a white merino wool shawl and cradled by his parents.
