Friends star Matthew Perry gets engaged to ‘greatest woman on the face of the planet’

Friends star Matthew Perry has announced his engagement to girlfriend Molly Hurwitz.

The 51-year-old actor, who played Chandler Bing in the sitcom, started dating the 29-year-old two years ago.

Perry hasn’t been married before but has previously dated several high-profile actresses including Julia Roberts and Mean Girls’ Lizzy Caplan.

Perry told People Magazine: “I decided to get engaged.

“Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”

Hurwitz, who is based in Los Angeles and New York, is a literary manager and works for a firm which represents screenwriters, directors and actors.

The couple went public with their relationship in December.

Earlier this month, Perry confirmed that the long-awaited Friends reunion show would not be filmed until next year due to coronavirus.

The one-off reunion show will reunite the six Friends

The one-off special had been due to start in August and launch the HBO Max streaming service in May.

Filmed on the show’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros lot in Burbank, California, it will reunite the original cast of Perry and co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

The show ran for 10 seasons from 1994 and is still one of the most popular shows on TV.

Perry’s latest project is Netflix film Don’t Look Up, which will also star Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet and Meryl Streep.

Directed by Adam McKay, the space comedy tells the story of two low-level astronomers who go on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy planet Earth.

It’s due to begin filming later this year.
