‘I’ve never felt love like this before!’: Perrie Edwards shares name of new-born son

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has shared the the name of her new-born son, two weeks after giving birth.

Sharing two pictures of her new bundle of joy swaddled in a blanket and wearing a blue woolly hat, she wrote: “2 weeks of loving you. I’ve never felt love like this before!”

Edwards then shared his name, Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain – a tribute to the baby’s father, Liverpool footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

In a hour, the announcement had been liked 800,000 times, with famous friends commenting on the post.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star and influencer Saffron Barker was among those who commented, saying: “Adorable… so gorgeous, congratulations again xxxx”.

Love Island star Georgia Harrison also poured love onto Axel, commenting, “omg this is perfection”, as well as some emojis with love hearts for eyes, while TV presenter Kim Woodburn simply wrote: “beautiful”.

Edwards, 28, announced she was pregnant in May, sharing a photo of her bump on Instagram and another shot of the footballer cradling it from behind.

Announcing the pregnancy, Oxlade-Chamberlain wrote: “Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies?”

The couple have been together since 2017.

Edwards gave birth almost a week after bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who revealed she had twins with fiance Andre Gray, who plays football for Watford.

Pinnock and Edwards make up two-thirds of Little Mix, which was formed on The X Factor in 2011 and has become one of the UK’s biggest girl bands.

Jade Thirlwall is the third member, with Jesy Nelson leaving the group in December 2020.

They are set to release a new album, Between Us, in November, which will celebrate the band’s 10th anniversary.
