Man, 22, arrested over shooting after Euston church memorial service

A man has been arrested following a drive-by shooting outside a church near London’s Euston station – as CCTV footage obtained exclusively by Sky News shows the sense of panic in the area as people fled the scene screaming.

Four women and two girls, aged seven and 12, were injured in the shooting outside St Aloysius Church on Phoenix Road on Saturday afternoon.

The seven-year-old girl was left in a left-threatening condition, while a 48-year-old woman suffered potentially life-changing injuries.

The shooting took place after a memorial service was held for a young woman and her mother, who had died within a month of one another in November.

Police said they believe the gunman fired a shotgun from a black Toyota at around 1.30pm before driving off.

As well as the 48-year-old woman and two girls, three women aged 21, 41 and 54 were also taken to hospital after the incident.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage captured near the scene of the shooting shows the sense of panic in the area as people fled the scene screaming.

In the video obtained by Sky News, a gunshot can be heard and a dark car is seen driving down Phoenix Road, near Euston Station.

Following the bang, people can be heard screaming and are seen running away.
